What do you price off of?
The price quote (for a single hard drive) depends on the nature and the severity of the damage. Please keep in mind that occasionally a recovery for a minor failure can be time consuming (a tedious recovery), so its pricing can be similar to an extensive damage recovery.
How is my data returned to me?
Data in the capacity fewer than 10GB can be burned to DVDs at no extra charge. Anything over 10GB needs to be transferred to a non-compromised media of applicable capacity.
Why do I need a transfer drive?
When the recovery is complete, the retrieved data has to be transferred to a non-compromised media of your choice. You can either purchase a hard drive from Micra Data Recovery or provide us with your own media. Please keep in mind that purchasing a transfer hard drive from Micra Data Recovery considerably expedites the service, as the recovered data can be immediately mirrored to a hard drive of the applicable capacity. If you decide to use your own media, prior to copying the data, our certified technicians will have to format and run the performance diagnostic test on a submitted hard drive which might increase the turn-around time by up to two business days.
Do I still have to pay in an unlikely case of an unsuccessful recovery?
In the unlikely event we are unable to recover your data, or if you’re not completely satisfied with the results, you do not have to pay. However, if the initial diagnostics determine that donor parts or custom programming are required to begin the recovery process, you might be asked to submit a non-refundable down payment/commitment fee which will be deducted from the total recovery cost at the completion of the recovery. In the event of a partial recovery, you will be given an applicable discount on the initial price quote. For instance, if only 70% of your data is retrieved, you will be given a 30% discount on the initial price quote.
What is the average turnaround time on a standard service hard drive recovery case?
The estimated turnaround time for a Standard recovery case is 10 business days (from the moment you give us your permission to start the recovery). The diagnostics are performed within 3 business days.
Micra Data Recovery, however, offers various expedited services. Please feel free to chose the service that fits your needs best in terms of the turnaround time.
How can I verify the recovered data?
Once the recovery is completed, you will receive a list of all recovered files and folders or sample screen shots before you are asked to submit the final payment. Micra Data Recovery’s patented File Directory Viewer gives you an opportunity to search a file structure of your recovered data for an easy verification.
What do I do if my hard drive is making strange noises?
When your hard drive is giving off any physically audible sounds, this is a serious indicator of a present or future complication. Hard drives should not give off any noise louder than a small fan or spinning noise.
